BCAM and University of Deusto sign agreement to boost academic and scientific collaboration in mathematics

With the main objective of fostering academic and scientific collaboration, BCAM and the University of Deusto have formalized an agreement that covers various areas of collaboration. This agreement, which strengthens the ties between both institutions, aims to promote research, specialized training in mathematics in general and applied mathematics in particular, as well as attracting talent.

The signing also coincides with the launch at Deusto of the new degree in Mathematical Engineering, pioneering studies in the Basque Country.

The key objectives of this collaboration are structured in the following points:

Research in their fields of competence: Both institutions undertake to collaborate actively in research projects that align with their respective competences. This synergy aims to enhance scientific progress in shared areas of interest, focusing on mathematics in general and applied mathematics in particular.

Cooperation for mutual or third-party advice: The agreement includes the possibility of reciprocal advice between BCAM and the University of Deusto, as well as the willingness to offer advice to third parties when necessary.

Co-supervision of doctoral theses: Collaboration is established in the co-supervision of doctoral theses, allowing students to benefit from the experience and knowledge of both institutions in their research.

Specialized supervision of final degree  and/or master's  projects: BCAM and the University of Deusto undertake to offer specialized supervision for final degree and/or master's projects, providing students with the opportunity to receive guidance from experts in their respective fields.

Support for talent attraction through specific aid programs: Measures will be implemented to attract and retain talent in the academic and scientific fields.

Provision of specialized training: Both institutions will collaborate in the provision of specialized training, offering joint academic programs, courses, and workshops that contribute to the mutual enrichment of their academic communities.

This agreement represents a significant step in strengthening research and academic training in key areas. By joining forces, BCAM and the University of Deusto aim to promote scientific progress, contribute to the development of new talents, and consolidate lasting collaboration for the benefit of the academic and scientific community.
