Duration: 2021 - 2022
Funding agency: Basque Government (ELKARTEK)
Type: Regional Project
Status: Ongoing Project

Objective:

The aim of the project is the development of a multi-scale modelling methodology for metallic materials that allows establishing the relationship between the chemical composition of the material and the characteristics of its manufacturing process, with the resulting microstructure, with the material properties corresponding to this microstructure, and with its performance, in what is known as a PSPP (Process - Structure - Properties - Performance) approach. This type of methodology will provide a significant breakthrough that will accelerate both the development of new metallic materials and their process conditions, and the adaptation of existing materials to new extreme operating and manufacturing situations. The modelling methodology will be structured on the basis of different specific models (focused on certain processes, materials, etc.), independent and interchangeable, which can be coupled together, so that in the future it can also be extended to other types of models (focused on other processes, based on other modelling technologies, etc.).
