4th BCAM-UPV/EHU Summer School on Harmonic Analysis and PDEs: Restriction Theory

Date: Mon, Jul 1 2019

Hour: 09:20

Location: Seminar room, Basque Center for Applied Mathematics - BCAM

Speakers: David Beltran, Javier Ramos and Julien Sabin

Date: 1-5 July 2019
Location: Seminar room, Basque Center for Applied Mathematics - BCAM

The purpose of this summer school is to introduce the participants to current topics of research lying at the interface of harmonic analysis and partial differential equations. This year's summer school aims to cover three topics that are fundamental in restriction theory: Tomas--Stein theorem, extremizers for the Tomas--Stein theorem, and bilinear estimates in restriction theory.

The school is oriented towards PhD students and possibly undergraduate and graduate students, and early post-docs. A strong preference will be given to early PhD students.

Three experts on the topic will deliver mini-courses and direct working groups on topics that fulfil the goals of the school:

1. David Beltran (BCAM - Basque Center for Applied mathematics) will be in charge of the course on: Tomas--Stein restriction theorem and decoupling inequalities.
2. Javier Ramos (ICMAT - Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas) will be responsible of the course: Bilinear estimates in restriction theory.
3. Julien Sabin (Département de Mathématiques d'Orsay, Université Paris-Sud) will coordinate the course on: Extremizers for the Tomas--Stein theorem.

More information about the structure of the summer school and the application process can be found at the following website: https://sites.google.com/view/hapde2019

The number of participants cannot exceed 24 and priority will be given to early PhD students. For this reason, we kindly ask you, if interested, to apply for participation. The deadline is April 22nd of 2019.
