BCAM Scientific Seminar: Multi-phase flow calculation using Moving Particle Full-implicit (MPFI) method

Date: Fri, Feb 15 2019

Hour: 11:00

Location: Seminar room

Speakers: Masahiro Kondo

Abstract:
Moving Particle Full Implicit (MPFI) method is a newly developed particle method which is similar to Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamic (SPH) method and Moving Particle Semi-implicit (MPS) method. The particle method is for incompressible fluid flow calculation having a feature of thermodynamic consistency. Since the total mechanical energy of the system monotonically decrease with thermodynamic consistency, this feature is related to avoiding particle scattering with energy increase. In this seminar, first, MPFI method is going be explained, and next, fundamental single phase flow calculations are shown. Then finally, some trial multi-phase calculations are presented using MPFI method.
