Abstract
In this talk, a unifying framework to describe some anomalous diffusion processes and non-Gaussian diffusion will be presented. The concept of subordination will be presented through the story of "a donkey who liked raspberries too much". Both anomalous and non-Gaussian types of motion based on the subordination technique will be described. The unified framework will be used to introduce a new type of anomalous diffusion process. Additionally, it will be shown how to use the framework to combine different type of processes and describe some complex situations where deviations from Brownian motion stem from heterogeneities of mixed origins. Finally, the diffusion of G-protein coupled receptors at the plasma membrane of living cells will be investigated.
