ABSTRACT:
Random Schrödinger operators are used in physics to model electrodynamics in disordered media. Their mathematical theory is at the crossroads of several mathematical domains, especially spectral theory and probabilities. I will present the bases of this theory, including the celebrated result called "Anderson localization", which is the fact that conducting materials become insulators when they are disordered."
PREREQUISITES:
Although a short reminder will be provided, it is recommended to have some elementary knowledge about spectral theory of bounded operators and probability.
