Introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics by the Finite Volume Method

Fecha: Mar, Abr 12 - Vie, Abr 15 2016

Hora: 09:30

Ponentes: Ali Ramezani, Goran Stipcich and Imanol García, BCAM

Dates: 12-15 April 2016 (4 sessions)
Time: 09:30-11:30 from Tuesday to Thursday and 09:30-13:30 on Friday (a total of 10 hours)

The course will cover a short introduction to computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The governing Navier-Stokes equations will be derived, discussed, and discretized by the Finite-Volume (FV) method.

The principles of solution will be tackled:
 spatial and temporal discretization;
- turbulence modeling;
- initial and boundary conditions;
- consistency and stability;
- mesh generation.

The last part of the course will be dedicated to hands-on sessions using the open-source CFD Code BBIPED developed at BCAM, and selected realistic applications will be solved.
