Information of interest
I am an Ikerbasque Research Associate Professor at BCAM since September 2023.
My research interests lie in the theoretical analysis of partial differential equations, especially those arising in the description of the dynamics of non-homogeneous fluids.
Previous research experiences:
-
Maître de Conférences (Associate Professor) at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (Villeurbanne, France), from september 2015 to august 2023;
-
Junior Visitor at Centro di Ricerca Matematica “Ennio De Giorgi”, Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa, Italy), from October 2014 to August 2015;
-
post-doc researcher at Université Paris Diderot (Paris, France), from September 2013 to September 2014;
-
post-doc researcher at BCAM – Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (Bilbao, Spain), from September 2012 to August 2013;
-
demi-ATER (temporary lecturer) at Université Paris-Est Créteil (Créteil, France), from September 2011 to August 2012.
I earned my Ph.D. in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (2012) from SISSA – Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (Trieste, Italy) and Université Paris-Est Créteil (Créteil, France) in the framework of a cotutorial Ph.D. thesis.

Thermally driven fluid convection in the incompressible limit regime
(2024)We consider a scaled Navier–Stokes–Fourier system describing the motion of a compressible, heat-conducting, viscous fluid driven by inhomogeneous boundary temperature distribution together with the gravitational force of ...

Well-posedness of the Kolmogorov two-equation model of turbulence in optimal Sobolev spaces
(2023-10-23)In this paper, we study the well-posedness of the Kolmogorov two-equation model of turbulence in a periodic domain Td, for space dimensions d = 2,3. We admit the average turbulent kinetic energy k to vanish in part of the ...

Weak observability estimates for 1-D wave equations with rough coefficients
(2014-12-31)In this paper we prove observability estimates for 1-dimensional wave equations with non-Lipschitz coefficients. For coefficients in the Zygmund class we prove a "classical" estimate, which extends the well-known observability ...

A note on complete hyperbolic operators with log-Zygmund coefficients
(2014-12-31)The present paper is the continuation of the recent work [7], and it is devoted to strictly hyperbolic operators with non-regular coefficients. We focus here on the case of complete operators whose second-order coefficients ...

- Recipient of the french PEDR (award for research, students' supervision, teaching and administration activities) from 2017 to 2020, renewed until 2024 (resigned in 2023).
- "Oberwolfach Leibniz Fellowship” from Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach.
- “Vinci 2010” fellowship from Università Italo-Francese/Université Franco-Italienne, for cotutorial PhD theses between Italy and France.
