Joint BCAM-UPV/EHU Analysis and PDE seminar: A priori estimates for dispersive equations via frequency-restricted estimates

Abstract
The derivation of nonlinear dispersive estimates in low regularity has been the focus of active research in the past fifty years. Many tools have been developed in order to capture precisely the underlying oscillatory structure: Strichartz estimates, normal form reductions, space-time resonances, multilinear Bourgain estimates, and so on. In this talk, I will introduce frequency-restricted estimates, which are sublevel estimates for certain multipliers in the spatial frequency. The goal is twofold: first, I'll show how these estimates relate to the aforementioned techniques. Second, I'll present the general methodology to prove them, illustrating its wide-range applicablity with several examples. This is partially joint work with R. Cote, F. Oliveira and J. Silva.
