Control Theory Made Easy: A Mathematical Perspective with Application Examples is a comprehensive 18-hour course designed to provide participants with a mathematical backbone in control engineering. The course covers the fundamentals of control theory, including models, stability, feedback systems analysis, and control design paradigms for time and frequency domains, mainly using linear algebra-based elements. Through theoretical and practical instruction, hands-on exercises, and real-world examples, participants will learn to analyse and design control systems for a wide range of applications in diverse fields, such as energy systems (including wave and wind energy systems), bioengineering and mechanical engineering. This course targets applied mathematicians, researchers, engineers, and postgrad students, all with a solid mathematics background and interest in control engineering and its applications. Upon completion, participants will possess the knowledge and skills needed to design and implement control systems that meet specific performance objectives and will have a solid foundation for exploring alternatives and applications to further use cases and trigger new research lines in the sector.
