BCAM Seminar Non-Locality and Fractional Laplacian. Applications: Anomalous Dynamic Systems and Sub-Super Diffusion Processes

Date: Fri, Sep 18 2009

Location: Universidad La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain

Speakers: Juan J. TRUJILLO

This lecture will be dedicated to point out how we can use with efficiency some fractional differential models to simulate the dynamics of anomalous processes  in complex  media. To do it we will use some simple and easy to follow examples. Also, we will address some of the many applications of these thecniques as an alternative to classical sthocastic and  ordinary linear or non-linear models.

On the other hand, we will present a new definition of a fractional n-dimensional Laplacian, alternative to those used recently to model non-local Parabolic Problems. To introduce such n-dimentional laplacian we will use the well known Integral Riesz Operator, from the Potential Theory.
