BCAM holds the workshop "Bilbao-Bordeaux Workshop on PDEs"
- The workshop was attended by almost 40 participants from the network Bilbao-Bordeaux at the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics - BCAM in Bilbao
The Basque Centre for Applied Mathematics - BCAM organised the workshop Bilbao- Bordeaux Workshop on PDEs at the centre in Bilbao from 08 to 09 April, in a face-to-face format, in collaboration with the project TRANSMATH, the University of Bordeaux, and BCAM. Around 40 Bilbao-Bordeaux network participants attended the workshop. The workshop aimed to foster interactions and collaborations between the mathematical institute of Bordeaux and the ones in Bilbao (BCAM and UPV-/EHU) and, at the same time, to create a global dynamic involving the mathematical institutes of the Bay of Biscay area."
Ten internationally renowned experts in PDEs presented their work in the event. Among the speakers, "Bilbao-Bordeaux Workshop on PDEs" workshop was honoured with the participation of Victor Arnaiz Solorzano (Université de Bordeaux), Mehdi Badsi (Nantes Université), Marco Bravin (Universidad de Cantabria), Gilles Carbou (Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour), Vincent Duchêne (Université de Rennes), Marco Antonio Fontelos (ICMAT Madrid), Rafael Granero-Belinchón (Universidad de Cantabria), Sergei Iakunin (Basque Center for Applied Mathematics), Renato Lucà (Basque Center for Applied Mathematics) and Pablo Miranda Rozas (Universidad de Santiago de Chile).
The focus of this event covered on various aspects of the analysis of PDEs, especially those related with problems coming from mathematical physics: fluid mechanics and turbulence, plasma physics, wave dynamics, quantum mechanics. A mix of internationally recognised speakers and of promising young researchers reported on new trends and recent advances obtained in those fields.
