BCAM will participate in the International Day of Women and Girls in Science
Christina Schenk will give a talk at San Felix School in Ortuella
The Basque Center for Applied Mathematics - BCAM will participate one more year in the International Day of Women and Girls in Science through the “11 de febrero” organization.
This year, Christina Schenk, a Postdoctoral Fellow at Modelling and Simulation in Life and Material Sciences group at BCAM, will be giving a virtual talk at San Felix School in Ortuella to 13-year-old students to raise awareness of her work as a mathematician and to highlight the work of women in scientific careers.
The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed February 11th as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science with the aim of achieving full and equal access and participation of women in science. As such, this day is a platform to give visibility to women scientists and to encourage girls to choose a career in science, should they wish to do so.
