Mateus Sousa (BCAM Researcher / Harmonic Analysis) has been elected as a Member of the Governing Board of the RSME - Spanish Royal Mathematical Society

  • For the next 3 years, he will actively participate and vote on activities and decisions of the RSME.

We are thrilled to announce that Mateus Costa de Sousa, BCAM Researcher (Harmonic Analysis) funded by a Ramón y Cajal fellowship, has been elected as a Member of the Governing Board of the Spanish Royal Mathematical Society - Real Sociedad Matemática Española.

For the next 3 years, he will actively participate and vote on activities and decisions of the RSME.

Mateus is broadly interested in mathematical analysis and its connections to other fields, such as partial differential equations and the theory of special functions. He heavily inclined to work on problems which can be explained with relatively simple tools, but demand intricate ideas to be solved. Before moving to Bilbao, he held postdoctoral positions at the Universidad de Buenos Aires and the LMU Munich. Mateus received my Ph.D. in December, 2017, at IMPA, under the supervision of Emanuel Carneiro

We look forward to many interesting things to come out of this collaboration
