Third edition of the Erasmus Mundus Master in Renewable Energies in the Marine Environment (REM)
- Members of the CDF Modelling and Simulation group at BCAM will teach some modules of this internationally recognized master
The third edition of the Master In Renewable Energy in the Marine Environment (REM) has begun at the Bilbao School of Engineering. The students were at the Scottish University of Strathclyde during the first semester and will continue with the second one at the University of the Basque Country.
This master, recognized at international level with the label Erasmus Mundus of the European Union, has a network of associated centers formed by several institutions and research companies of great reputation. Among them is the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics - BCAM, which will have direct participation in the programme by teaching and hosting students for their theses.
The members of the CFD Modelling and Simulation research line at BCAM Marco Ellero, Emanuele Rossi, Imanol García, Vincenzo Nava (Tecnalia-BCAM), and Rahul Kumar (CIC BiomaGUNE-BCAM) will teach some modules about computational fluid dynamics and operations and maintenance of marine energy arrays.
About the REM master
The Master in Renewable Energy in the Marine Environment (REM) is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) offered by four universities:
- University of the Basque Country
- University of Strathclyde
- Norwegian University of Science and Technology
- École Centrale de Nantes
It provides the students with skills in assessment, analysis, simulation, development and exploitation of all available energy in the marine environment and in project development of safe, efficient and reliable marine energy generation plants, including operation and maintenance design and study of the integration of the plants in the electric system. It also offers the possibility to develop the Master´s thesis in one of the supporting entities and it offers a number of scholarships.
