Novi Quadrianto

Novi Quadrianto is a machine learning scientist and leads a BCAM Severo Ochoa Strategic Lab on Trustworthy Machine Learning. He is also a Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Sussex in the UK, and an Adjunct Professor (Data Science) at Monash University Indonesia. Novi is currently a PI on 3 active EU grants on the topics of trustworthy machine learning ranging from integrating the legal non-discriminatory principles of GDPR into automated machine-learning systems in a transparent manner to developing human-centric AI decision support systems: BayesianGDPR (ERC), TANGO (EU Horizon RIA), and Act.AI (ERC Proof of Concept). 

Novi and his research group have also performed inter and transdisciplinary collaborations and, among others, have developed a data-driven landscape modelling tool (LIMMMA -- Landscape Integrative Mapping and Modelling for Multifunctional Analysis) and used it to visualize and assess the multiple values of landscapes to provide a system perspective in answering pressing challenges such as climate change and sustainable food estate programme (funding is from Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs DEFRA through Shared Outcome Fund for our climate change work in England and Global Centre on Biodiversity for Climate programme for our food estate work in Indonesia).
