Objective:

"This proposal is based on the integration of research teams from various entities of the RVCTI to develop R&D of excellence. In addition, from its design, it has a vision of the application of research, so it will promote the transfer of its results to the business sector related to the socio-health sector for both diagnosis and treatment of diseases that are difficult to diagnose or lack effective treatment, as is the case of PULMONARY HYPERTENSION (hereinafter PH). In line with the trajectory of CIC biomaGUNE, it is a collaborative research initiative that adds to the efforts made by CIC biomaGUNE and the other participating agents to place the Basque Country at the forefront of science and technology in the field of biosciences. Thus, with the aim of developing collaborative fundamental research of excellence but without forgetting the results orientation and applicability of the proposed developments, the bmG19 project consists of three main lines of action, which are as follows: -Development of new biomarkers for functional and molecular imaging and identification of new circulating footprints and physiological signals for differential diagnosis preferably of disease onset, identification of potential therapeutic targets, and for monitoring new therapies in PH. -Development of biomaterials as agents for transport and controlled release of therapeutic substances, as novel tools for the treatment of PH based on nanotechnology. -Development of lab-on-chip systems for optimising knowledge of the functional state of the pulmonary vasculature and for the study of advanced therapeutic systems."
