Luis Vega elected as an academic member of Jakiunde, the Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters

Renowned professor and researcher Luis Vega from the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics and the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) has been selected as an academician of Jakiunde, the prestigious Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters of the Basque Country, during the autumn assembly of 2023. Vega's election to join this highly prestigious institution is based on his outstanding trajectory and valuable contributions in the field of mathematics. Professor Luis Vega, along with the nine newly elected members from various disciplines in sciences, arts, and letters, will be inaugurated in their positions during Jakiunde's Spring Plenary, scheduled for April.

Established in 2006, Jakiunde is comprised of distinguished personalities from diverse disciplines, ranging from science and research to arts and literature. This academy works towards advancing knowledge and progress in scientific, cultural, and artistic domains in the Basque Country. Moreover, it aims to engage with society in joint reflection to address contemporary challenges and find suitable solutions.
