BCAM will be present in the event Basque Industry 4.0 The meeting point

  • Researchers from the center will show the services of the cybersecurity node of the Basque Digital Innovation Hub, of which BCAM is part, at the most important event in the Basque Country around industry 4.0.

In line with its Intelligent Specialisation Strategy (RIS3), the Basque Government has developed the Basque Industry 4.0 strategy, a commitment to the incorporation of intelligence in means and production systems, the use of emerging capacities and technologies in new products and processes, the integration of advanced materials in solutions with greater added value or improved processes, the efficiency and sustainability of the resources used and the integration of high added value services.

All these forms of innovation associated with the fourth industrial revolution are shown, since 2014, at the annual congress Basque Industry 4.0, The meeting point organised by Spri Group. This event brings together all types of institutions, from companies from very diverse sectors, to universities, technology centers or public administration bodies.

The meeting point 2019 will take place on November 20th and 21st at the Bilbao Exhibition Center (BEC) and will feature a series of lectures, workshops and exhibitors that will tackle the debate on the fourth industrial revolution and cybersecurity.

Among the 85 exhibitors that will showcase technology and services for industry will be the one of the Basque Digital Innovation Hub (BDIH), a connected network of assets and advanced manufacturing services of which the Basque Center for Applied Mathematis - BCAM is part by being a member of the Basque Cybersecurity Centre, which provides Basque companies with the technological capabilities necessary to face the challenges of industry 4.0. This public-private collaboration network made up of universities, technology centers, business R&D units and other international institutions is structured into 6 nodes or work areas in which knowledge and technology are catalogued: flexible robotics, additive manufacturing, cybersecurity, intelligent and connected machines, advanced materials and data driven solutions.

BCAM researcher Ekhine Irurozki will be at the BDHI exhibitor during the congress to show attendees the solutions offered by the cybersecurity node and, more specifically, BCAM's Cybersecurity Data Analysis Laboratory. The tools of this lab are intended for tasks such as intrusion analysis, detection of anomalies and predictive analysis, among others. Its team is made up of statisticians, computer scientists and mathematicians with academic and industrial experience in the development and implementation of machine learning techniques, statistics for the analysis of large volumes of data, the extraction of information and prediction.

BCAM researchers Ekhine Irurozki and Imanol García will be at the BDHI exhibitor during the two days of the congress to show attendees the solutions offered by the cybersecurity node and, more specifically, the BCAM’s laboratory of cybersecurity solutions based on data analysis. Among the services of this lab are the development of programs for data analysis and prediction based on statistics and machine learning, and the creation of optimization algorithms to improve the management of resources and processes.
