BCAM joins the Euskampus Joint Research Unit

  • The scientific director of the center, J.A. Lozano, has signed a collaboration agreement with representatives from the UPV/EHU and Tecnalia to formalise BCAM's participation in this instrument for collaboration in international projects

The rector of the University of the Basque Country, Nekane Balluerka; the CEO of Tecnalia, Iñaki San Sebastián; and the scientific director of the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics, José Antonio Lozano, have signed an adhesion agreement. Through this agreement, BCMA will be part of the Euskampus Joint Reseach Unit, an instrument for collaboration in international projects that allows its members to participate as a single entity in the European Union's research programmes.

BCAM will actively collaborate in the development of the unit, whose main objective is to set up a space for collaboration in training, research, transfer and innovation of international relevance between the three entities. The center will contribute to the achievement of these goals through the knowledge of its team, its IT infrastructure and its ambitious scientific programme.

It should be noted that this agreement adds to other collaboration initiatives that BCAM already had with the UPV/EHU and Tecnalia, such as the Joint Research Laboratory in Offshore Renewable Energies (JRL-ORE), the Joint Research Lab on Data Science & Artificial Intelligence or the Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree in Renewable Energies in the Marine Environment (REM).
